This page explains what BlueLog collects, who handles it and the choices you have. Questions go to support@thebluelog.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email and password. The password is stored only in hashed form.
- Your voice memos. A memo stays on your phone until it's processed, then it's removed from the phone. We don't store the audio on our servers.
- Your trips: the written transcript of each memo, the report made from it, your edits, and your notes.
- Your photos, which are shrunk on your phone first. That also removes location data stored in the photo.
- Your spots: the names and map pins you save, and the tide stations and river gauges linked to them.
- Billing status, if you subscribe: your plan, renewal date and Stripe customer ID. Stripe handles your card, and we never see the full number.
- How many memos you've processed each month, which is how the free limit works.
Who handles it
We don't sell your data or show ads. These companies and agencies handle parts of it so the app can work:
- OpenAI turns your recording into text.
- Anthropic turns that text into your report.
- Supabase stores your account, trips, spots and photos.
- Vercel hosts the app.
- Stripe processes payments.
- NOAA, USGS and Open-Meteo receive the location of a spot and the time of a trip, so they can return tides, flow, weather and water conditions.
- OpenStreetMap receives your map searches and serves the map images, which means it can see your device's IP address.
Share links
Your trips are private until you create a share link. Anyone with the link can see your name, the date and time, your catches, what you threw, the tide, the conditions, your photos, and the headline, summary and area you approved. Your pin, saved spot, tide station, notes and recording stay private. You can turn a link off at any time.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account and everything in it from the Account page in the app. To get a copy or correct something, email support@thebluelog.com. Billing records may be kept where the law requires it.
Children
BlueLog isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
